Hi Hakan,
Sorry I do not have any photos of my own yet. But here are a few links

In terms of kids, there is a creek and limited facilities, so I guess it depends on the kids, and how much you can supervise them.
Matt :)

Hey Peta,
There are a few different camp sites there, some right on the water, and some only 100-200 meters away.

The water was only about 2-3 feet deep in some area's, but by the looks of the trees, can get up to 2-3 meters deep.

Loved this camp site, will be going back again.

We've visited the place this weekend. Our kids (3 and 7) absolutely loved it. They spent the whole day in the creek.
The place is very popular, so it can be a bit noisy in the evening, but look for campsites further away from the toilet blocks and you will probably find a quiet spot.

Hi Matt
Vehicles must be registered and then they can only be driven/ridden on public roads. There is no dirt biking here.
This campsite is on National Park land, and I think you will find that to ride a motorbike on most government land (such as NP and State forests) it must be registered.
Have a great camping trip.
Matt :)

This campsite is listed as allowing caravans and camper trailers but that is definitely not the case. There are bollards and chains blocking access. All camping is walk in only.

Hi Dave.
Thanks for your feedback. I understand that most of the campsites here are walk in only - but I believe there are a handful of campsites where you can park a trailer. I believe these areas can be used officially as the NPWS http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/NationalParks/parkCamping.aspx?id=N0051 also say it is OK for caravans and trailers. I will chase this up and see what other info I can get.
Matt :)

Koolblue - Trailers IP:123.200.209.xxx | 2012-10-02 17:55:48
I wish I hadn't taken the advice of this website as there is definitely no trailer camping. Unless you like camping in a car park with dirt bikes revving up around you. Yes, there are possibly spots where you could set up but there are bollards and cables between your trailer and the designated camping areas. Wheeney Creek has changed since I was a kid. Don't go on a long weekend. Large groups of beer swilling yobs and the aforementioned dirt bikes. By the Tuesday of the long weekend we had the place to ourselves.
Gemma - Can you go fishing there? IP:101.175.11.xxx | 2013-03-14 11:17:52
Just wondering if there are any decent fishing spots at Wheeny Creek? Are they walking distance from the campsite?
Thanks.
Matt - Pics would be good. IP:60.240.174.xxx | 2013-05-14 03:12:41
As I sat pic of here would be good as it is a one off layout and would help people make a more informed decision whether it would be suitable.
Stephanie - Family camping over Easter lon IP:14.200.164.xxx | 2014-04-07 12:40:30
Hi there, we're planning a camping trip over the Easter long weekend and was wondering if Wheeny Creek Campsite would be suitable. We have a 2yr, 5yr and 2x 6yrs. I'm just concerned about a previous comment here about camping on a long weekend with dirt bike and yobs?!? If this place is popular with 'hard partygoers' can you recommend somewhere else?

Cheers
Steph
admin - re: Family camping over Easter Super Administrator | 2014-04-09 23:55:43
Hi Steph
Generally you will be better with a fee based campsite (generally get fewer noisy and disruptive campers - but not always true) or a campsite that you have to walk more then 500m to get to. (which can be challenging with kids).
Hope you find a good spot.
(little beach on the central coast could be a good one??)
Matt :)
Johnny 5 IP:110.20.1.xxx | 2014-06-23 12:45:48
Just went there over the weekend. Nice spot for a day or two camp. Din't see any trail bikes there while I was there as mentioned in an earlier post. Took some photos to post here but cant seem to find how to. No mobile reception as its in the valley. Male toilet is collapsed or may be someone did that to it. There were a few people in cars late in the night who were there to do a few burnouts and to rev their engines, probably trying to wake up d neighbourhood. But it wasn't too bad, they came n left pretty quickly. Overall it was a good experience. Happy camping😄

Can a group of 17-18 year olds camp here overnight if there is only 2-3 18 year olds present and no official parent ?
