Great spot for first time campers. Good facilities and you can drive right to your campsite. There are also shops not to far away incase you get stuck. Like many camping places there are plenty of hazards for a 3 year old, and this campsite has plenty of water around. You can see some other suggestions of you other comments for some more ideas.
Happy camping, let us know how you go.
Matt :)

Can anyone you tell me more about the swimming and the surrounding waters. Are there any suitable fishing locations nearby? I need to keep 9-15 y.o. boys busy :)

Hey Sam. The campsite is on Simpsons Bay, Port Hacking, so one can swim after a very short walk from the campsite. There are no patrols on the beach. Nearby there is a beach in Bundeena and on the other side of Bundeena is Jibbon Beach. No personal experience with fishing, but you do see people wetting a line.

Hi Tony. Great place to get into camping, It is open all year round, fees are found on the first 'general info' tab (fee per adult + fee per car) The cost of the showers are included in the camping fees - ie no addition charge.
Hope you have a great time
Matt :)

Im considering a camping trip here, does anyone know if I'd have to book much in advance for during the week, instead of weekends? Eg Tuesday to Thursday. I'd like to avoid booking too say the day before, in case the weather looks bad...

Hi Kay
Since almost all campsite I list at this stage are in National Parks, most do not have Powered sites. So there is no icon for it. I only mention in the text if there is power. Not perfect I know.
THanks
Matt :)

Hi,
Does this place have any BBQs? The image gallery shows that it does but the icons say it doesn't. Can you please advise?

Many Thanks,
Jit

Is campfire allowed here? Do we have to bring the wood or we can buy it from there? I checked it's not a powered site, if the campfire is also not allowed here, how would you do the bbq without any light?
admin - campfires Super Administrator | 2012-08-17 09:56:15
Sorry mike no campfires :(
There are electric/gas BBQs you can use. There are some lights around, but I think you will find a torch handy for cooking and getting around after dark
Happy camping
Matt :)

Can the hot water facility be disabled? I'm thinking about running a student camp which is minimal facilities?
Thanks.

Hi Dan
This is a popular campsite, so I am sure you would not make many friends turning off the hot water. This is a well established campsite with a lot of facilities. Perhaps you group might be better suited to a site with less facilities and less people.

Matt :)

Hi
I was wondering if you have any minimal impact codes? If so, what are they?

Hi John
Sure MIB code is here

Leave No Trace Australia is also an excellent source.

Is there any minimum stay periods for march 2013?
Eric IP:60.240.32.xxx | 2013-09-02 12:06:36
I went to Boonie Vale with a few friends over the weekend and it was a pleasant experience. We were lucky enough to book sites with sea views.
At night people are all showing respect and being very quiet.
Shower is nice and warm.

Hi,

Does anyone who camped here still have a copy of the camp site map? I lost my copy from last year's camping and this year they didn't send one anymore, I called and they said they have it in the website but can't find one. Just want to know where site 17 and 74 is. Thanks.

Many thanks
